In Person Timed Snowshoe Races at Springside Park!
Race will be capped at 25 participants.
Saturdays at 9 am.
1.55 Mile loop course
Registration will be online ONLY at www.berkshirerunningcenter.com where we will gather all
information on all participants.
Any atteendees renting snowshoes will have to do so online in advance. All equipment will be
sanitized before and after use following the COVID protocol and used only by the participant
who registered for the numbered and inventoried equipment.
For any registrants from out of the state of MA we will contact them to ensure that if they are
coming that they are compliant with all safety measures put in place by the state in regard to
testing, quarantining etc.
The fee for the event is $20 and $25 with rental.
If the race fills up additional race times may be added. We would like to host a second at 2pm on the Saturday or
the following Sunday morning at 10am. The weather and the amount of snow will always be a
deciding factor on the event.
DAY OF TIMELINE:
Pre arrival emails will be sent to all participants before the event with day of instructions, as well
as receiving it upon registration.
Participants will be asked to park at Reid Middle School or at the Springside House. They will
be instructed to maintain social distancing and any gatherings will be discouraged, monitored
The start and finish of the event is at the entrance to the park at the jersey barriers, which make a
substantial designated space on the road from the Springside House. There is no thru traffic and
it is remote, we will only allow those participants with bibs to enter.
Registrants are asked to arrive at 8:45am to receive their bibs, they will be informed in several
different places, registration, prearrival emails, and online confirmation that gathering before and
after the event is discouraged and will be enforced.
The snowshoe will start at 9 am.
If there is not sufficient snow the race will be modified to match the conditions.
There is a 1.55 mile loop that the attendees will follow in the field along the border of Reid
Middle School and proceeding in a large loop on the outskirts of the park.
There are never any crossings in which participants will meet.
The shorter distance ensures our ability to monitor all the participants and not to have
prolonged exposure time.
The course will be marked with clear start and finish lines and flags along the way with cones at
the corner turns. There will be only the participants allowed in the area and a minimum of 6
feet distance when staging for the start of the event. Masks are mandatory for the entire event for
participants and staff. There will be no gathering areas prior to the event, participants will have
instructions to arrive distanced in the field five minutes before the start of the snowshoe. There
is ample space in the fields for participants to remain the recommended distance.
Upon completion of the event, participants will be asked to immediately leave the area. There is
no returning of bibs or any contact with the race staff.
All correspondence post event will be done online via email including posting and sharing of
results and awards.
